ABOUT


Jess Bartlett is an award-winning writer/producer with bases in SE and SW England. She has written and produced a large number of short films including BBC Arts and ACE funded projects, one of which is streaming on BBC iPlayer.

As a Company Director at Terror Arcade, Jess is currently in development for multiple projects, including their debut feature film. Their lockdown short TIME OUT went viral, accumulating 90+ million views online.​ Most recently, Jess wrapped on proof-of-concept short OUTSIDE NOISE with writer/director Ethan Evans which won production funding from CenterFrame. The short is exec produced by Jed Shepherd & Alex Noyer, is official selection at the 68th BFI London Film Festival and is shortlisted for the Sony Future Filmmaker Awards.
As a writer, most recently, Jess has completed an independently written female-led horror spec script along with multiple horror feature scripts co-written with Ethan Evans. Jess was also one of the 2023 Killer Shorts horror screenplay contest winners and was a semi-finalist in 2024. Jess has written episodes of TV on two horror series produced by Eli Roth, which are available on HBO Max.

Jess is a Bafta Connect member and has participated in schemes such as Creative UK's Foundations Programme, BFI Shorts2Features, the BFI New Producers Lab and as a mentor on the BFI Creative Mentoring scheme.

Jess graduated from the University of Gloucestershire in 2018 with a First Class Honours Degree in Film Production with an additional 'School of Media Creativity Prize'.
